
Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Dr. Hamid Bobboyi, yesterday kicked off the 2017 National Assessment of Learning Achievement in Basic Education (NALABE) in Abuja.
Speaking during the monitoring of the exercise at Pilot Science Secondary School, Wuse, Zone 5, Abuja, he said the UBE Act of 2004 empowers the commission to prescribe minimum standards, monitor, appraise and evaluate the UBE programme in the basic education sub-sector.
The scribe noted that the assessment which is taking place across the country is aimed at determining the efficiency and quality of performance of primary and junior secondary school pupils and students in Nigeria.
