Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has canvassed support for the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Maj-Gen. Farouk Yahaya, congratulating him on his appointment as the 22nd COAS in the annals of the Nigerian Army.

In his remarks when he visited the COAS at the Army Headquarters, Abuja, yesterday, Umahi described Yahaya as a detribalised Nigerian.

The governor stated that the nation was passing through challenging times that require stakeholders to maximally support the security agencies.

He warned Nigerians to desist from playing politics with the nation’s security, applauding President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing Yahaya to lead the army.

The governor reiterated that constant cooperation and assistance of the army and other security agencies would consolidate the relative peace being enjoyed in Ebonyi.
