Uneasy calm in Lagos community over gang-related killing
A high-ranking member of the Aye confraternity, known only as Solution, was reportedly killed in the Iju Ishaga area of Lagos State on Sunday night. It is believed the victim was attacked and killed by suspected members of the rival Eiye confraternity.
The attack allegedly occurred shortly after Solution’s pregnant wife had left the scene. Local sources, including members of the Aye confraternity, have reported that the area had been relatively peaceful until this incident.
They attribute the attack to a recent change in leadership within the Eiye group. In response to the unprovoked attack, Aye members have warned of potential retaliation, suggesting that the incident could lead to further violence and unrest in the area.
The Lagos State Police Command has not yet commented on the incident. Efforts to reach spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin were unsuccessful.
