The international conference on witchcraft organised, by the Prof. BIC Ijeomah Centre for Policy Studies and Research, University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) yesterday began at the Enugu community.

It however, came with a new theme, “Dimensions of Human behaviours”, apparently based on the prompting of the university management even as the word “Witchcraft” was removed from its flex banner.

The two day event had earlier been tagged “Witchcraft, meanings, factors and practices”, a development that had sparked off angry reactions from the students, staff and other members of the society.

Director of the centre, Prof. Egodi Uchenna, said the casualties created by social media and other platforms were engineered by “people who set out to cause confusion on (an) ordinary academic conference.”
