The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Chika Malami, yesterday, said the North needed to support Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shetima to continue with the good work President Muhammadu Buhari started.

Malami, while speaking at the flag off campaign of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State, said Buhari has done well and needed someone with capacity and understanding to continue his good work.

He urged APC supporters in Kebbi to come out and vote Tinibu, Nasiru Idris for governorship and all other APC candidates in the state for the people to continue to enjoy the dividend of democracy that the Abubakar Bagudu’s administration has institutionalised in the state.

Governor Abubakar Bagudu while addressing APC supporters in Yauri said, “President Buhari has given us a message for you. He ask us to tell you to vote Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Kashim Shetima for the presidency and Nasiru Idris for governorship.”

He said that he has no doubt about the person the party voted as its governorship candidate in Kebbi.

“Tinubu has the capacity to deliver as president given his track records in Lagos State. Kaura Gwandu will also do better than me in Kebbi,” Bagudu said.

Earlier, the state APC Campaign Director General, former Governor Alhaji Usman Dakingari in his address said the North had a pact with the South West to support Buhari’s presidency.

He said the North now has a duty to fulfill its promise to support the South West for Tinubu to win the presidential election.

Dakingari enjoined APC supporters to support the party to deliver its candidates from top to bottom in coming elections. He said the incoming APC administration would deal with the security issues in Kebbi south area of the state.

“Forget their lies, the PDP has nothing to offer you as they claimed. Bagudu administration deserves continuity. Vote Kaura Gwandu to enjoy more dividend of democracy,” he said.

Also speaking, the APC governorship candidate, Dr. Gwandu assured the people of the state that his administration would empower youth and bring changes to the all sectors if elected.

Meanwhile, the Edo Central Senatorial District Directorate, Contact and Mobilisation Unit of the APC, Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), on Friday, set their agenda on how to ensure that the right awareness is created in ensuring that the APC emerges victorious in the 2023 presidential election.

Speaking after a meeting with Edo Central LGAs and the ward coordinators, the Edo State Assistant Director, who is also the Leader, Esan Central Senatorial District, Contact and Mobilisation Directorate of the PCC, Dr. Goddy Igbaekeme, pointed out that the proactive nature of the Contact and Mobilisation Directorate of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, is not in doubt, as the unit, was the first to be inaugurated in Edo state and in the South-South.

Igbaekemen said the presence of Tinubu/Shettima would be felt in the five local government areas in Edo central in the coming days, as modalities has been put in place to ensure that no stone is left unturned in ensuring total victory across board for all APC candidates.

He said, “Whatever the Directorate of Contact and Mobilisation will be doing in Edo central, will be in synergy with the existing APC structure in the state.”
