Yoruba Leaders of Thought (YLT) has celebrated its National Chairman, Tajudeen Olusi, on his 90th birthday, describing him as a pillar of the progressive political movement in Nigeria and a moral compass for the Yoruba nation.
In a congratulatory statement signed by its National Secretary, Bayo Aina, YLT praised Olusi’s commitment to good governance and the welfare of the masses, noting that these ideals have defined his political engagement since the pre-Independence era.
The group said that Olusi, who also chairs the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), had played a significant role in shaping leadership succession in the state, contributing to what it described as a governance model other states could emulate.
It attributed Lagos State’s development to the commitment of Olusi and other political leaders, including President Bola Tinubu, to succession planning and policies aimed at promoting good governance.
According to the statement, Olusi’s integrity and wisdom have continued to inspire political leaders across party lines, adding that these qualities account for his close relationship with Tinubu, who regards him as both an ally and confidant.
The YLT, while describing the elder statesman, popularly known as the Prince of Peace, as a man of honour and service, said his longstanding contributions to public life had earned him the respect of politicians who regard him as a mentor.
The group, however, wished Olusi many more years of service to the organisation and the Yoruba nation as it celebrated the milestone
