As Kwara State approaches the 2027 governorship election, the question before voters is not merely about political alignment but about leadership capacity, who can translate ambition into real, measurable development. In my view, Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki, widely known as AMBA, stands out as the most compelling choice.

AMBA’s strength lies first in his background as a businessman. As founder and Managing Director of Kursi Investments Limited, he has built and managed a thriving enterprise, gaining firsthand experience in job creation, capital mobilization, and private-sector growth. These are not abstract ideas but practical competencies Kwara urgently needs as it seeks to attract investment, strengthen small and medium-scale enterprises, and expand employment opportunities for its growing youth population. His approach reflects an operator’s mindset, focused on efficiency, fiscal discipline, and results.

Beyond business, his political journey underscores both experience and maturity. During the 2019 All Progressives Congress governorship race, AMBA emerged as a leading aspirant but chose to step down in support of Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq. That decision proved pivotal in consolidating the “O To Ge” movement, which reshaped Kwara’s political landscape. As Director-General of the campaign, he played a central role in grassroots mobilization across the three senatorial districts, building coalitions that ultimately delivered victory. This capacity to subordinate personal ambition for collective success speaks to the kind of leadership Kwara needs—one that prioritizes unity and long-term progress over individual gain.

Equally important is his record of philanthropy and community engagement. Through the Yahaya Seriki Foundation, AMBA has consistently intervened in key areas such as education, youth empowerment, healthcare, and community development. His efforts have supported access to learning, provided vocational opportunities, improved local infrastructure, and delivered medical outreach to underserved communities. This is not election-season generosity but a sustained commitment that demonstrates a clear understanding of the everyday challenges facing ordinary Kwarans.

Looking ahead, AMBA’s vision for governance is rooted in inclusive development. His agenda prioritizes modernizing agriculture and expanding agro-processing to boost rural incomes, improving infrastructure to support commerce and daily life, strengthening healthcare systems, and investing in education and skills development to prepare the workforce for a changing economy. Central to this vision is a commitment to transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement, principles that are essential for restoring public trust and ensuring effective governance.

What ultimately sets AMBA apart is the convergence of capacity, experience, and compassion. His business track record shows he can deliver results, his political history demonstrates his ability to unify diverse interests, and his philanthropic work reflects a genuine commitment to people-centered development. At a time when Kwara requires not just promises but proven leadership, he offers a credible path forward.
