Sir Each time President Muhammadu Buhari is comparing his accomplishment, action and personality with that of former President Goodluck Jonathan, it amounts to envy on the part of Buhari and he is making Jonathan to become more popular. The above submission is in view of the recent comment by President Buhari in Damaturu, Yobe state that he responded better than Jonathan on the issue of the abducted Dapchi school girls.

President Buhari and Jonathan are incomparable in terms of accomplishment in public life. In terms of corporate experience, Buhari has more to show than Jonathan, he had served in top military positions including GOC, military administrator, minister, head of state and now executive president among others. Jonathan on his own, is a Ph.D holder, university lecturer, deputy governor, governor, vice president and later president. In all his political accomplishment, he worked for only presidency, others are through providence. With President Buhari’s experience, Nigerians expectations is that he should out-perform Jonathan particularly in security matters which is the kernel of his statements in Damaturu. Nigerians believed that Buhari can do better as a president, that was why they voted Jonathan out during 2015 polls. The next thing for Buhari is to prove his worth or justify the confidence reposed on him by Nigerians. Jonathan is not competing with the president Buhari at moment. So, the issue of comparison does not arise. Obviously, by comparing his action with that of Jonathan, Buhari belittle himself and promotes Jonathan.
