Ahead of the 2023 poll, the Omaluegwuoku Progressives Initiative (OPI) has described the presidential candidate of the ruling All progressive congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the most competent presidential candidate in the country.

Led by Ambassador Ginika Tor, the group in a town hall rally enjoined the Ndigbo in Kano state and neighbouring Yobe state to cast their votes for Tinubu at the poll.

Tor further urged the Ndigbo resident in the states to shun ethnic and religious sentiments in making their choices on who to vote as President in 2023.

She stated that Igbo Kwenu 4 Asiwaju was borne out of her passion to bring South Easterners on board the Asiwaju Presidential project and galvanize their interest in massively voting for Asiwaju/Shetima ticket and ensure that the Igbos do not make the past mistakes of voting wrongly this time around.

Tor who is a Federal Commissioner, Federal Character Commission remarked that if the Ndigbo who are members of APC are not personally convinced about the ticket up to this point in time, then they (Igbos) will not be able to vigorously campaign for the election of the APC Presidential candidate.

She said It was for this singular reason that she and her team resolved to embark on the tour of the six geo-political zones to intimate them

Tor reminded the Ndigbo in Damaturu, Yobe state that the competence, capability, and credibility of Asiwaju and Shettima are not in doubt and their footprints are visible for anyone to see so they should not hesitate to join hands with OPI to vote Asiwaju/Shettima as the President and Vice President respectively.

She noted: “How can you vote uncertainty against certainty. Asiwaju laid the foundation for a modern Lagos State between 1999-2007 and leap frogged the IGR from a paltry N600m per month to over N10B monthly and it is upon that foundation that successive administrations of Lagos state have leveraged to continue to deliver dividends of democracy to Lagosians.”

Tor also mentioned that Asiwaju and Shettima, had identified and supported credible successors in their respective states to build on the foundations for good governance that they laid.

She concluded by saying that it is evidently clear that these two seasoned administrators are capable of positively transforming Nigeria to the benefit of all..

The Omaluegwuoku Team members that made the Tour, included The Founder/President, Amb. Mrs. Ginika Tor; Chief Emmanuel Ogbonna; renowned Comedian, Lukumon Oni popularly called “Ambassador Wahala”; Hamza Ibrahim; Haj. Amina Idris; Chief Ifeyinwa Patrick and Chief Eric Ijeomah.

The Kano outing was co-organized by Hon. Tony Anthony Ifeanyi, SA to the Executive Governor of Kano State on Entrepreneurship Development.

The Igbo Kwenu 4 Asiwaju train had covered the three geo-political zones of the South namely; Enugu, South East; Lagos, South West; Calabar, South-South before heading to the Northern regions.
