2027: C&S church tasks Tinubu, APC on level playing field for political actors

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

The Supreme Head of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, His Most Eminence, Emmanuel Abiodun Adewle Alogbo JP, said on Monday that as Nigeria prepares for another round of electioneering across all levels of government, beginning this year, President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) should provide a level playing field for all political actors in the country, just as he urged politicians to refrain from politics of violence and bitterness.

Speaking during a press briefing to herald the 2026 Annual General Conference of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church Of Nigeria, slated for January 29 to February 1, 2026, and themed “An Unhidden City”, Alogbo said that, as a church whose members are part of the citizens of Nigeria, it is deeply troubled by the loss of innocent lives, the displacement of families, and the atmosphere of fear across many communities in the country due to insecurity.

“As we speak, 156 members of our church – from Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church – are still in the den of their abductors, having been abducted during the Sunday Service on January 18, 2026, at Wali in Kajuru LGA of Kaduna State. While the church commends the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government for its efforts to address the security challenges in the land, it also expresses concern about the recent increase in kidnappings across the country and calls on the government to look into it critically.

“It is a fact that Nigerians are moving around the country with fear and panic, as many roads are no longer safe. I urge the Federal Government to continue to fortify our Armed Forces by procuring modern equipment to enhance their operational capabilities.”

Alogbo noted that the conference’s theme, “An Unhidden City”, is a prophetic declaration over the Cherubim and Seraphim Church as it steps beyond its centenary into a new divine era. “Having been preserved, tested, and established by God for over 100 years, the Church is not called to retreat into history but to rise with renewed visibility and relevance. As a city set upon a hill, the C&S Church is summoned to shine again with spiritual authority, Apostolic purity, holiness, and the power of prayer that marked its foundation.”

“This theme calls the Church to remove every veil of division, fear, and complacency, and to manifest Christ boldly—bringing healing to the land, restoring moral clarity, and speaking prophetically to the nation. Thus, the theme ‘An Unhidden City’ (Mat. 5:14) is a mandate for impact.

“The forthcoming Annual General Conference is therefore designed to provide spiritual direction, moral clarity, and practical guidance for the Church and the nation at this critical time. The conference programmes have been carefully structured to address spiritual growth, leadership development, youth engagement, nation-building, and social responsibility.”
