The Adewole Adebayo-Bugaje Presidential Campaign has said President Bola Tinubu, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, have nothing to offer Nigerians ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The campaign, through its Chief Communications Adviser, Comrade Mark Adebayo, stated this on Saturday in Abuja at a press conference on the state of the nation, security, governance and the 2027 elections.

Mark declared the Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate, Adewole Adebayo, the best among the presidential contenders while citing his alleged preparedness, intellect, integrity, track record and policy blueprint.

According to the campaign, Nigerians should look beyond political rhetoric and assess the candidates based on their plans and capacity to deliver meaningful change.

Mark said Adebayo’s Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity blueprint provided a detailed four-year roadmap for addressing the country’s economic and security challenges.

Comparing Adebayo with Atiku, the campaign said the SDP candidate had a stronger record of personal integrity and professional excellence, while alleging that the former vice president’s integrity had repeatedly been questioned.

On Obi, it argued that Adebayo offered a more comprehensive approach to governance, particularly in economic policy, labour, production and structural reforms.

The campaign also criticised Obi over recent political developments, including his reported willingnes to serve as Atiku’s running mate.

Turning to Tinubu, the campaign said there was “absolutely no basis for comparison” between the President and Adebayo.

Mark questioned the controversy surrounding Tinubu’s educational background and contrasted it with what it described as Adebayo’s documented educational and professional history.

He said: “The choice before us is crystal clear. The difference between Prince Adewole and the rest is the difference between a professional planner and a smooth talker. Forty years is not enough time for corrupt leaders to stop milking a country dry, but four years is more than enough for a focused leader to rescue his people.

“Compare him with Atiku, for instance, he stands taller with track records of personal integrity and professional excellence. The former Vice President’s integrity has been called to serious question consistently by no other than the president with whom he served. Nigeria cannot afford such ailment in addition to the current cancerous regime. And, trust me, Adewole would not mock Deborah in death as Atiku did.

“Compare Adewole with Peter Obi, Prince Adewole Adebayo offers a fundamentally superior approach to governance. Leadership requires moving beyond populist rhetoric but looking at empirical possibilities. By examining their economic ideologies, approaches to Labour, production models, and structural consistency, we can see that why Adewole presents a more robust blueprint for Nigeria.

“Unlike Obi, Adewole does not play to the gallery of ethnoreligious antipathies. Meanwhile, just recently Mr. Peter Obi’s running mate in the 2023 election has declared him unfit to govern Nigeria. Two days later, Mr Obi himself endorsed another presidential candidate and even said that he would have gladly accepted to be a running mate to Atiku but nobody offered him the position. He has clearly ruled himself out of the equation.+

The campaign also accused Tinubu of avoiding presidential debates, alleging that the President would again shy away from public scrutiny during the 2027 election campaign.

“My principal, Adewole Adebayo, is ready to debate any presidential candidate even at a moment’s notice in the areas of economy, technology, agriculture, security, constitutionalism, aviation, education, international diplomacy, oil and gas, personal integrity, and all debatables,” Mark said.

The campaign accused the Tinubu administration of worsening poverty, hunger and insecurity, saying the government had failed to adequately address the country’s challenges.

It alleged that the administration was putting in place structures to compromise the 2027 electoral process.
“President Tinubu knows and all Nigerians know that in a free, fair and credible election, he will lose in a landslide in 2027,” the campaign alleged.

It called on Nigerians to vote massively in 2027 and remain vigilant in protecting the integrity of their votes.

The campaign also promised that an Adebayo administration would pursue the recovery of allegedly stolen public funds and strengthen anti-corruption agencies to operate without political interference.

On security, it proposed the establishment of a national anti-kidnapping and banditry command to coordinate intelligence, tactical response, digital investigations, financial tracking and prosecution.

It also promised massive investment in solar technology and power-sector reforms, the construction of at least three million affordable housing units within four years and measures to boost agricultural production.

The campaign said its proposals, covering security, foreign relations, energy, education, health, agriculture, sports, social welfare, human rights and infrastructure, were contained in Adebayo’s Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity policy blueprint.

It urged Nigerians to reject ethnic sentiments, financial inducements and noisy political rallies, and instead assess presidential candidates based on their policies, competence and preparedness.
