APM senatorial candidate Ajadi distributes over 500 bags of rice ahead of Eid

Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo has distributed over 500 bags of rice to residents and key stakeholders across Oyo State ahead of the forthcoming Eid al-Adha celebration.

The senatorial candidate for Oyo Central under the Allied Peoples Movement, Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has distributed more than 500 bags of rice to residents, party members, executives and stakeholders across Oyo State ahead of the forthcoming Eid al-Adha celebration.

The distribution, which forms part of his annual humanitarian outreach, was aimed at easing economic hardship and strengthening unity among party faithful and residents during the festive season.

Ajadi said the initiative reflects his continued commitment to supporting vulnerable households at a time when many Nigerians are grappling with rising food prices and broader economic pressure.

According to him, Eid al-Adha symbolises sacrifice, compassion and sharing, stressing that political leadership should consistently demonstrate empathy and concern for citizens beyond election periods.

He explained that the rice distribution was extended to party executives, grassroots mobilisers, youth groups and other stakeholders across the senatorial district to ensure wider reach and equitable sharing.

Ajadi noted that even modest interventions can help reduce pressure on struggling families during festive periods, adding that welfare-driven initiatives remain an important aspect of responsible leadership.

He also urged political leaders across the country to prioritise initiatives with direct impact on ordinary citizens, insisting that governance and leadership should not be limited to campaign activities alone.

Beneficiaries of the gesture described the intervention as timely, particularly amid increasing food costs and economic challenges affecting many households.

Some recipients also commended Ajadi for what they described as his consistent engagement with grassroots members and community-based support initiatives.

The distribution exercise was coordinated through local party structures across selected areas within Oyo Central Senatorial District to ensure orderly and fair allocation.

Political observers say festive-season interventions have increasingly become a common feature of political engagement in Nigeria, as politicians seek to maintain closer relationships with constituents through welfare-oriented programmes.

As preparations for Eid al-Adha continue, Ajadi reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining humanitarian initiatives aimed at supporting residents and promoting unity across communities in Oyo State.
