Presidential aspirant of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Olajide Filani, has congratulated Muslim faithful across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful completion of Ramadan.

In a statement he personally signed, Filani described Eid-el-Fitr as a season that embodies sacrifice, discipline, love, and compassion. He urged Nigerians to uphold the lessons of Ramadan by promoting peace, tolerance, and unity across the country.

He noted that Nigeria urgently needs unity and a shared commitment to building a nation where all citizens can coexist in peace, dignity, and joy.

“On this Eid-el-Fitr celebration, I extend my warm congratulations to our Muslim brothers and sisters for successfully completing Ramadan, a period that teaches patience, sacrifice, and devotion to God. These qualities are essential for Nigeria at this critical time,” he said.

Filani stressed that the current challenges facing the nation require prayer, sincerity of purpose, and responsible leadership, while encouraging citizens not to lose hope in the prospect of a more peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.

He called on political leaders, religious bodies, and citizens to use the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr to reflect on the importance of national unity, harmonious coexistence, and a commitment to justice and equity.

“My hope this season is for peace to be restored across Nigeria, for citizens to experience genuine joy, and for us to build a country where everyone feels valued and secure,” he added.

The YPP presidential hopeful also urged Nigerians to continue praying for the nation and to support initiatives aimed at promoting stability, economic growth, and security.

He further expressed optimism about the future, calling on Nigerians to make the right choices in 2027 to usher in peace and prosperity.

Quoting Winston Churchill, Filani concluded by reminding citizens that success means “moving from one failure to another without losing enthusiasm.”
