Ekiti PDP South leaders, stakeholders distance selves from alleged endorsement of APC senatorial candidate, Adaramodu
Threatens sanction against Fayose loyalists over anti-party activities
Leaders and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti South Senatorial District, yesterday, distanced the party from the purported endorsement of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate, Mr. Yemi Adaramodu, by some loyalists of former governor, Ayodele Fayose.
The leaders, therefore, urged unsuspecting members of the party and the public to disregard the alleged endorsement.
Some loyalists of Fayose had recently endorsed the APC candidate in the district as against the PDP candidate, Senator Biodun Olujimi.
The loyalists allegedly took the decision last Thursday in Ise-Orun and Emure local councils, saying Nigerians should begin to vote for performing individuals regardless of party affiliations.
HOWEVER, in a communique issued after their meeting in Ado-Ekiti, the PDP leaders berated those parading themselves as anti-Senator Olujimi and other candidates of PDP members in the Ekiti South Senatorial District against the interest of the party.
In the communique signed by the PDP South Senatorial Chairman, Chief Femi Tijani and 39 leaders, they advised those engaging in anti-party activities to desist to avoid disciplinary action.
