Katsina APC endorses Buhari, Masari for 2019
The Katsina State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Aminu Bello Masari to contest for another term in office in the 2019 general elections.
The two leaders were endorsed during the weekend by the ruling party following a resolution contained in communiqué signed by the Chairman, Shittu S. Shittu.
The party also dissociated itself from a factional group, APC AKIDA, saying the group was not conducting itself within the ambit of its constitution.
Shittu said the party unanimously endorsed Buhari and Masari in recognition of their laudable performances in the last two years.
The party commended the Buhari administration for its resolute fight against corruption, war against insecurity, Boko Haram and armed robbery among others.
According to Shittu, “The endorsement was in recognition for the administration’s effort at moving the economy forward and its efforts to bring Nigeria out of recession.”
The APC said it endorsed Masari in recognition of his “transparent administration, open door policy and wonderful achievements recorded within the short period of two years.”
It said Masari’s administration had performed excellently in various sectors, including education, health, security, water supply, infrastructural development and empowerment of the people.
