Ahead of the August 15 governorship polls in Osun State, the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Oyebamiji, yesterday, promised to entrench inclusive governance that would accommodate everyone regardless of ethnicity, political and religious divides.

He made the promise during a public engagement meeting with the members of the Arewa community in Ibokun, Obokun Local Council of the state.

Oyebamiji, who was represented at the meeting by a former lawmaker and erstwhile Special Adviser on Civic Engagement to former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, gave the assurance that his administration would adopt a structured approach to fostering an inclusive and participatory governance that accommodates all segments of society.

Meanwhile, five lawmakers of the APC, representing Osun State in the National Assembly, have rejected claims that President Bola Tinubu endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term.

The legislators, operating under the G-5 caucus, said there was no agreement or assurance from the President to support Adeleke in the forthcoming August 15 governorship election in Osun State.

In a statement, yesterday, jointly signed by Senators Adenigba Fadahunsi and Olubiyi Fadeyi and Representatives Oluwole Oke, Bimbo Ajilesoro, and Sanya Omirin, all of whom recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to the APC in Osogbo, the lawmakers urged members of the public to disregard what they described as misleading claims about a purported alliance between Tinubu and Adeleke.

However, the Osun State chapter of the Accord Party (AP) has lampooned the Oyebamiji over an alleged unlawful hijacking of local councils and their monthly allocations, warning that the party will be punished for its actions and inactions at the governorship polls in the state.

The party, in a statement issued and a copy of which was made available to newsmen in Osogbo by its Chairman, Victor Akande, noted that Osun State residents are well aware of the dangerous antics of the APC over the matter.
