Deji Adeleke, the billionaire elder brother of Governor Ademola Adeleke, has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) expended a whooping sum of N60 billion on August 15 in its last minute effort to win Osun State offcycle gubernatorial election.
He attributed the re-election of his brother, Ademola Adeleke to the will of the Almighty God, resilience and courage of Osun people to stand for justice and reward for service.
Speaking in a video sighted by The Guardian, on Tuesday, Deji explained that Adeleke’s dynasty cannot match the financial wherewithal of the APC and their backers to earn victory during the election poll.
He stated: “Let him know the reason why we defeated them. The only reason why defeated Oyetola is not because are bigger or spend money than him. On the election day, they spent N60 billion as we heard.
“In some places they bought votes for as higher as N50,000 for one single vote. When I heard the kind of money they were spending I went to the little corner of my room and I knelt down and prayed to God.
“I said God Almighty that let people collect their money and still vote for Ademola Adeleke. I just wanted you to know my routine. When I kneel down to pray everyday I have some Bible verses and passages that I read and that I pray with.
Adeleke who was clutching a tab in the video added: “This is one of my testimonies. The Bible passage can be found in Isaiah, Chapter 41, starting from Verse 10. When I finish reading it you will know why I’m not afraid of anything. This is because I believe that the God Almighty is very strong.
“That’s why you don’t see me running after people in high places or competing to go and meet anyone. I will rather do it in my very little corner and ask God Almighty to help me.”
