Stakeholders, supporters and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State are set to receive former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, as he returns to Ibadan from Abuja.
Adelabu is expected to arrive at the Alakia Airport following his resignation on Wednesday, a move widely linked to his renewed ambition to contest the 2027 governorship election in the state.
Party faithful and supporters had gathered at the airport as early as Thursday morning in anticipation of his arrival.
After landing, he is scheduled to proceed to the Adebayo Adelabu Foundation office in Jericho, Ibadan, where he will hold consultations with supporters and political associates.
Adelabu previously contested the Oyo State governorship election in 2019 under the APC but lost to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Seyi Makinde. He also ran in 2023 on the platform of the Accord Party but was again defeated by the incumbent.
The former minister has, however, reaffirmed his intention to vie for the governorship seat in the 2027 general elections.
