Oyo APC leaders move to reconcile members, set up 138-man committee

The Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders’ Advisory Council has planned to set up reconciliation and harmonisation committees at the ward, local and state levels.

The Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders’ Advisory Council has planned to set up reconciliation and harmonisation committees at the ward, local and state levels.

A communiqué, signed jointly by the Chairman and Secretary of the council, Iyiola Oladokun and Dr. Isiaka Kolawole respectively, yesterday, asked the two sides in the party to nominate members into the committees.

They copied the chairman of the party, Isaac Omodewu, in the resolution.

IN another development, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, Joshua Olukayode Popoola, and a chieftain of the party, Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeyan, have joined the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

The duo joined the NNPP yesterday ahead of the 2023 general elections in the state. They said their supporters across the 33 local councils in the state had also joined the party.

Olopoeyan received the NNPP membership card, a development that signified his formal entry into the party, from the Council Chairman of Ward 1 in Ibadan North East, Mr. Ololaja Alao, while Chairman of NNPP in Ward 10, Ibadan North East Local Council, Mr. Owoseni Akeem, presented the membership card to Popoola.
