National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party, led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, has approved the commencement of a nationwide digital membership registration exercise across the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to a statement issued yesterday by the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, the party’s registration will begin today and run for three weeks.

Ememobong said the initiative was aimed at compiling a comprehensive digital membership register in compliance with the Electoral Act 2026, which mandates political parties to submit updated digital registers of their members to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He stated that registration would take place daily, except Sundays, at all wards, chapters and state offices of the party nationwide, while special cases would be handled at the party’s National Secretariat.

The NWC, he stated, had constituted a special committee headed by the National Organising Secretary, Theophilus Daka Shan, to supervise the exercise and address complaints that may arise during the registration period.

“The party urged members and prospective members to visit the nearest PDP office within their wards to participate in the exercise,” the statement added.
