The governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may have commenced a high level lobbying to put its house together as the Senator Modu Sheriff and Ahmed Makarfi leadership tussle goes to Supreme Court.

This informal lobby team had the Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose and his counterpart of Gombe state, Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo were spotted late in the evening on Thursday at Transcorp hotel, Calabar.

Top sources in the Cross River state governor’s office said the two governors were in Calabar to lobby Ayade who had recently announced his loyalty for the Sherif group.

Efforts to get Fayose to talk failed as he deliberately avoided journalists who were there as he said he was in Calabar on a private visit. The sources further disclosed that both governors held a midnight meeting with Ayade on their mission even though their visit coincided with the 49th birthday of their host on Thursday.

It was further gathered that Fayose who is the Chairman of PDP governor’s forum took the initiative to lead the delegation to lobby Ayade who is also of the PDP.

Ayade, on the twilight of the recent court judgment, which declared Senator Sheriff as the substantive chairman of the PDP, chose to obey the order of the court by supporting the judgment recognizing Senator Sheriff over the Makarfi led caretaker committee. This had not gone down well with Fayose and others who against Senator Sheriff who won at the Appeal court.
