Kebbi governor urges prayer for peace, tranquility in New Year
Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel has urged the people of the state to see the next two months in the year as an important one, as they would make critical decision as to who will govern them.

He said this yesterday during the 2019 State Solemn Assembly at Ibom Hall Ground in Uyo, the state capital.According to him, the era when people play God in the state was over, noting that 2019 would determine whether the story of the state would continue to be written in brighter terms.

“Fellow Akwaibomites, this is a critical year, a year you will make consequential decisions; a year that will determine if you will continue to live in peace and prosperity or return to the dark and scary years of kidnapping, violence and politically-motivated killings when men played God and you were too scared to lift your voices or raise your hands to complain without being murdered or kidnapped,” he said.

In another development, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has urged people of the state to pray for peace, tranquility and prosperous year for the nation and its leaders.

In a statement signed yesterday by his Chief Press Secretary, Abubakar Mu’azu Dakingari, the governor, who felicitated with people of Kebbi State and Nigerians generally on the New Year celebration, enjoined all and sundry to ensure 2019 general elections are conducted peacefully devoid of any hitch and rancour while assuring of his administration’s readiness to provide socio-economic development that would uplift the living standard of the citizens.

He further reiterated his total devotion to the service of the people and advised them to utilise the abundant agricultural resources and uninterrupted power supply enjoined in the state to boost their economic growth.
