Governors, firms to receive housing industry awards

For pursuing mass housing provision policies and bringing innovations in the construction sector, six governors and companies have been nominated for award in the forthcoming Abuja Housing Show (AHS) in Abuja.

The award tagged Housing Industry Award is organized by Fesadeb Communications. This year’s award ceremony takes place next week at the International Conference Centre (ICC) Abuja.

The event will be chaired by the chairman, Jaiz Bank International Plc, Alhaji Umaru Abdul Mutallab.

The governors are: Umar Ganduje of Kano, Simon Lalong of Plateau, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa, Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu.

The winners Solignum is recognized as the Wood Preservative Product of the Year. Sungold Estate Limited is honoured as the Fastest Growing Estate Company of the Year while Adron Homes will receive the Award of Excellence in Estate Development.

Others are Yahaya Yusuf as Town Planner of the Year, Dr. Ezekiel Oyemomi as Life Achievement Award.

Executive Director with the Nigeria Mortgage Refinance Company (NMRC), Dr. Chii Akporji as an Outstanding Female Finance Executive of the Year while the Chief Operating Officer of Urban Shelter Limited, Sa’adiya Aminu is the Female Housing CEO of the Year.

Others are President of Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria, Rev.Ugo Chime; David Garnva and Kunle Faleti.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Fesadeb Communications, Festus Adebayo who announced this at the weekend, said the award is designed to celebrate excellence in affordable housing.

He said names of the honourees were picked following an online poll.
