At 39, Timi Dakolo says his best is yet to come
Nigerian soul music artiste Timi Dakolo celebrated himself as he clocked 39 on January 20. The singer took to his Twitter page on Monday to wish himself a happy birthday, sharing some photographs.
On his Instagram page, the Bayelsa State native also revealed to fans his plans for the year, which entails more laughter, growth, joy and family time.
“I will laugh a lot this year, so if you see laughing hard just remember I said so. I will push myself the hardest. I would sing my best songs yet. I would travel a lot. I would know God more. I would be creatively crazy. I would make me proud,” he wrote.
His wife Busola also took to her Instagram page to celebrate her husband, who stood by her during her trying times. The photographer also shared some photographs of his birthday shoot, describing Timi as her jewel of inestimable value.
The previous year could not have ended better for the Dakolo’s as on November 4, Timi got signed to Virgin EMI Records and recorded a single with the award-winning British Singer Emeli Sande titled Merry Christmas, Darling.
This comes as a blessing after the drama that ensued earlier in the year when Busola accused the Senior Pastor of the COZA Church Worldwide, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of raping her 20 years ago when she was still a member of the church. Nonetheless, the case was dismissed in court on the grounds of injustice and an abuse of judicial process adding that the case was empty and full of pure sentiments and she was fined to the tune of one million naira.
On January 21, Timi Dakolo shared another picture of himself on his Instagram page thanking everyone for showing him love and sending him amazing messages on his birthday.
“I love you all, Thank you all for the amazing messages. I feel so loved by so many amazing people. May God grant the secret petitions of your heart. Please if I didn’t comment on your post, please forgive me. The messages came thick and fast. I love you big.”
