When asked the ideology behind Senbar? Olusola said: “The great thing about perfume is experience. You don’t really have to tell anybody so much about a perfume. More often than not you don’t have to say anything, they just have to experience it – once you smell it, then you want it. So the idea of Senbar is for people to come in and drink, and while doing that you do a round of perfume testing and you’re captivated. Our best-selling store is at the airport, where people are just traveling. They don’t intend to buy perfume but once they smell it, they still buy it anyway.
“The idea of the Senbar is for people to come in, have a drink and experience the fragrances. However, with the drinks, we are not doing the regulars you have in most of the bars around. We realised that most of the perfumes are made with edible stuff such as cherry, vanilla, bergamot etc. Most of the things we use to make perfume are actually edible. So, we came up with the idea of creating drinks around the perfume.
“So you may want to come up here and rather than just buy perfume, we have you taste the perfumes by creating a drink for you to match the perfume. So for us, it gears up your interest to use the perfume. So in other words, we created a situation where you can taste your smell.
