“Love is great, Love is necessary, Love is beautiful, but Love is not enough”, Young Jonn says as he cracks a broad smile talking about his project.

The love-themed 5-tracker EP dubbed, Love Is Not Enough, takes the listener on a 360-degree voyage of romantic love, from first sight attraction to painful endings.

As expected, Young Jonn’s musical production and creative direction on the EP is stellar, but even more alluring are the heartfelt lyrics, and effortless vocals, which allow for an easily memorable song.

The project kicks off with a horn-strewn track dubbed, 32, which expresses the undiluted happiness experienced with new puppy love. This is followed by his newest release Dada, already a fan favorite with its catchy repetitive hook, “Only you fit do me dada.”

The narrative of unending love continues in Next To You, as Young Jonn gets some help from an American R&B lover boy, Vedo. They both serenade listeners with their sultry and pleasant vocals, but the tone quickly changes after Young Jonn decides it is best they remain as friends in Just Friends. In Normally, it seems the friendzone is no longer enough, as Young Jonn laments about his missing love.

With this project Young Jonn is set to join the class of contemporary Afro-pop musicians in Nigeria who combine songwriting and melodies to deliver a sonic delight.

“This project has been a long time coming,” Young Jonn, who suffers from crippling social anxiety, said. “I was only able to produce music for others like Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Naira Marley and others, because I was too shy, but I think I’m ready now.”
