Faces at premiere of Ajanaku

With the impressive premiere of her debut movie as a producer ‘Ajanaku’, Tinsel Actor Adelabu Oluwaseun is ready to offer the well-helmed movie for public viewing. The premiere, which held at Light House Cinema, Yaba, Lagos, attracted a quality crowd of practitioners and very important personalities including legal practitioner and Media Consultant Chief Fassy Yusuf and top-flight entrepreneur and Marketing communication expert Akin Adeoya. Directed by Muyideen S. Ayinde, ‘Ajanaku’ features notable Yoruba actors such as Muyiwa Ademola, Adeniyi Johnson, and Bimbo Oshin.

The movie is a touchy story about rape and Oluwaseun explains that she decided to focus on the recurring issue so as to encourage victims to speak out. According to the actress and producer who also starred in the movie “the movie is about a rape victim who kept the issue to herself and didn’t quite speak out because of the stigmatization and insecurity. I found out that most rape victims feel insecure especially around men. I happen to almost experience one. I was almost raped. The rapist was going to use a bottle on me and I defended it. I have a mark on my hand. So we made this movie to encourage people to speak out and to get them to have their confidence back and to get people to love them.

The stigmatization is the reason why most people don’t speak out. So, we need to learn to embrace them because it is not their fault that they were raped.’’ Guests at the premiere commended the cast and crew and looked forward to the public screening of the engaging and thought provoking movie.
