Mr Eazi releases 2019 official first single, launches Empawa Distribution, publishing

Banku music pioneer, Oluwatosin Ajibade, well known in the music industry as Mr. Eazi has released his official first single of the year called Supernova. Dre Skull and E Kelly produced the song.

A statement issued by a member of his management, Ikenna reads: “We would like to inform you that Mr Eazi has released his official first single of the year called ‘Supernova’. This song was produced by Dre Skull and E Kelly. We will appreciate your support on this record.

Meanwhile, the singer took to Twitter on Thursday to announce that he has launched emPawa Distribution, which will provide label services to indie acts and labels across Africa. As part of this process, Eazi declared that he will move his catalogue to the platform.

“Thanks be to God I just launched my own distribution platform emPawa Distribution. I will be moving my entire catalogue to the platform July 19 and we will focus on providing label services for indie African artistes and labels! #DoneaziApproved,” he wrote.

A few minutes later, he also announced emPawa Publishing, which will focus on empowering music producers. He added that his publishing has also been moved to the platform.

“Also launching emPawa Publishing, which will be focused on empowering African Producers! As the sound goes global, the makers of the sound need to be well positioned on rev gen, ownership and opportunities!!! Will also be transferring my publishing to emPawa Publishing!” he also wrote.

The 2019 BET Awards nominee also announced emPawa Live. “Lastly Empawa Live will be presenting events such as party in the park on July 13 in partnership with @Akwaabauk, Detty Rave 3 Dec 27 and Mr Eazi Soundsystem Block Party 30th Dec,” he wrote

Last year, the Accra to Lagos singer had hinted about his emPawa Africa, when he wrote, “I said it, and I am doing it! Empawa Distribution, Empawa Publishing, Empawa Label Services all launch JULY 19!!!! Jah be praised.”

Recalled that the Zagaza master had a stellar 2018, and he began this year on a superb note, as he performed alongside Burna Boy at Coachella 2019.
