With two prime categories: ‘Naija Game of Thrones’, which has contesting celebrities such as 2Baba, Davido, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Wiz Kid, Olamide, Don Jazzy and Genevieve Nnaji) and ‘Naija X-Factor’, with celebrities such as Phyno, Victor Osimhen, Kelechi Iheanacho, King Rudy, Yemi Alade, Funke Akindele, Timaya and Mr P, the competition seeks to use social media as a tool for positive change by also recognizing leaders whose policies are resonating in terms of service delivery.

The project coordinator, Francis Amirize, says the NSMA is a game-changer, considering the overwhelming influence social media is wielding in today’s digital world. “Social media has grown to become an integral part of our lives today. It means many things to different people and can be deployed for fun, business, information, entertainment, research, religion, education amongst other advantages. The world spends billions of man-hours on social media annually, which is a confirmation that it has come to stay.”
