Talented rapper and songwriter, Akumefule Chukwuemeka George, known professionally as Blaqbonez, has released his highly anticipated album, titled, Emeka Must Shine. The album, which was released yesterday, was heralded by the release of singles like Ice Spice, Bezos, and Bad Till Eternity featuring Zlatan.

Prior to the release, the award-winning performer and Chocolate City signee had during the week announced a track list of the project with 14 hits, featuring music heavyweights and lyricist like American rapper Ludacris; afrobeats artistes like Black Sherif, Victony, Young John, Odumodublvck and Zlatan.

The album enjoyed the production imprints of revered industry beat makers such as, Masterkraft, Ramoni, North Boi production, and many more. Blaqbonez had initially intended to release the project on October 13, but shifted it to October 27.

Taking to his Instagram page, the award-winning rapper thanked his fans and everyone who had a hand in helping to create the album. He said, “to everyone who helped me create this, you have no idea how grateful I am. Everything I’ve ever done led me to this moment, this is the music YOU always wanted and I’m finally giving it to you.”

The emotionally charged track, Bad Till Eternity, featuring zanku master, Zlatan, serves as a heartfelt tribute to the late artiste Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as MohBad, who tragically passed away on September 12.

In the track, Zlatan’s signature style seamlessly complements Blaqbonez’s distinctive sound, resulting in an easygoing yet defiant offering that pays a fitting homage to their fallen comrade.

Speaking about the track, Blaqbonez said, “given the current happenings in the industry and in life overall, it is essential for us as artistes to address reality.”

Renowned for his vocal ability and ability to adapt to various musical personas, Blaqbonez has earned critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base through his versatile, energetic, and competitive rap style. His last album, Young Preacher, was embraced by fans worldwide, featuring collaborations with Amaarae, Lojay, Tekno, and Grammy-winning producer Jae5, among others.

The album made an impact on music charts, peaking at No. 1 on Apple Music in Nigeria and charting in over 20 countries, including the official U.K. album charts.
