Consider comedy, Deacon Famous urges youths

Popular Nigerian comedian, Udaya Chidiebere, professionally known as Deacon Famous, has encouraged Nigerian youths to turn towards comedy as a means of livelihood.

Popular Nigerian comedian, Udaya Chidiebere, professionally known as Deacon Famous, has encouraged Nigerian youths to turn towards comedy as a means of livelihood. The comedian added that every hardworking comedian is enjoying the benefits of their labour in the industry.

The comedian disclosed this in a chat with Weekend Beats, saying that, “Comedy is a very lucrative business but the amount you make, depends on the amount of work you put in. They’re people who have built mansions and Estates through comedy.”

Deacon Famous who is popular for his comedy skits on YouTube and Instagram has been in the industry for over a decade but started as a child actor, took a break from acting to return to school and then stormed the comedy industry.

Narrating his journey into comedy, he said “I started comedy from secondary school, I was entertaining my schoolmates during social gatherings in school and after secondary school, I took it as a job and I’ve been feeding with it. In the university, I was the best and most influential comedian on campus and I held the biggest shows on campus”, he said.

Sharing a list of comedians who have inspired him through his journey he mentioned AY, Basketmouth, Bovi, Efe Warri Boy, Trevor Noah, Steve Harvey “and a few local comedians across Nigeria”, said Deacon Famous.
