Kola Olugbodi Foundation has provided educational materials to over 200 students during its maiden back- to-school outreach, held at Majidun in Ikorodu, Lagos.
The initiative was organised to support students preparing for a new academic session and to provide practical assistance within the community. Although the original target was 200 students, attendance exceeded expectations, and the team accommodated the additional children with support from community representatives and volunteers.
Olugbodi attended the programme with members of his team. The outreach also created an opportunity to engage directly with the students and encourage them to pursue their education and aspirations.
Olugbodi is Managing Director of Background Check International (BCI) in Lagos.
Community representatives helped coordinate participants and supported the organisation of the programme. This collaboration enabled the Foundation to respond to the larger turnout and reach more students than initially planned.
The outreach reflects the Foundation’s focus on education, resilience and access to opportunity. Alongside immediate assistance, the initiative sought to encourage students to recognise their potential and approach the school year with renewed confidence.
The Majidun programme is the foundation’s first community outreach and a starting point for its ambition to extend support to more communities and young people.
