Rapper and beat maker, Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike Ezege, better known as Phyno has said that he is not bothered about being on the top 3 list in the Nigerian music industry, adding that he is also not bothered about 001, but committed to producing more songs that will keep Nigerians on their feet grooving.
The Penthauze Music chief who recently released his fifth album titled, Full Time Job, is one of Nigeria’s A-list music artistes who have kept his originality while proving to remain a lyrical genius.
Asked the reason behind the title, Phyno said: “Full Time Job is basically for creatives; the time you put in to develop your skill shows on your project. If you put in an hour, 20 hours or five hours, it will show and it will show the distinction. So, I am trying to tell people that this project is a full-time job and people can see the time I put into the project.”
On the artistes featured, he said: “They are artistes I love to work with; they are artistes I’m a fan of. I listen to their songs all the time and I know that they are very good.
Commenting on where the project has placed him in the industry, Phyno said: “I don’t do 001 or top three; I am Phyno, I have never been part of that conversation, I don’t care.”
On the challenges faced recording the album and how he feels about the album, he remarked: “I put in my time, sometimes I sleep in the studio all through. I like making projects that pass a message; I love to experience some things before I make music.”
