That Nollywood Actress Needs An English Lesson
On Tuesday, Nollywood actress, Evan Okoro, one of the leading figures in what is now known as ‘Asaba Nollywood’(Nigerian film actors that churn out home videos every other week from the Delta State capital, Asaba), released a video online.

She began the video in a rambling manner, and when she clarified she was speaking in ‘parables’, it dawned on T4T why she was indeed rambling rather incoherently, because according to her, she was talking to a particular government official(s) who she claimed to have met some days earlier and assured her he or they would sort out the issue that was bothering her, and T4T could only figure the issue had to do with her Asaba home, which was facing a threat of demolition by the state government.

Last year, she was seen on video tearing her wig off, well, literally, as she screamed that her only achievement in all her years of acting was about to be taken from her because government officials claimed the land where the house sits was on a waterway or something. That could only be the plausible explanation for her ‘parable’ video of Tuesday because she kept mentioning the unnamed government official(s) and bemoaning why they appear to be reneging on their words on “resolving the issue”.

Now, what you read above is actually not the news here. In the course of the video, Evan Okoro was heard boldly issuing a mild threat to the ‘government officials’ and this was how she concluded her warning: “Don’t take my silent for weakness.”

T4T had to rewind the video twice to confirm what he thought he heard. “Don’t take my silent for weakness.” T4T played back again and he heard what he was searching for. ‘Silent’. Yes, silent. “Don’t take my silent for weakness.” The nickel dropped. How a supposed top Nollywood actress would release a video with such an embarrassing ‘murder’ of English to the public is sad. With her straight face, it was clear Evan Okoro had no idea that she was supposed to use silence in place of the ‘silent’ she used, so, she should have said: “Don’t take my silence for weakness”.

If person wey dey act film in English dey make dis kain mistake and her fans see her as a role model who nor go fit make mistakes like dat, wahala dey o.

I Go Save, The Comedian ‘Voltron’
THE ongoing move by the people of Effurun in Uvwie Council of Delta State to ensure that the aura of Warri does not engulf its ethnic identity is still raging on.

Recently, female comedian, Realwarripikin had to cancel her comedy show when she insisted on not changing the event venue billed to hold in Effurun but was being promoted as Warri.

The advocates of “Effurun is not Warri” threatened Realwarripikin with legal actions and picketing the event on show day. She chose to cancel entirely.

Another comedian, this time, a male, I Go Save, T4T gathered, is not taking any of what Realwarripikin took. The same people had reportedly written to him to change the name of Warri in the promotional items for his oncoming show in Effurun. Unlike Realwarripikin, I Go Save is doubling down and threatening fire for fire.

T4T saw a video where I Go Save was blowing hot and telling whoever cared to listen that he was not Realwarripikin and anybody who dared to disrupt his show would face severe consequences. He spoke in Pidgin English. Someone in the comments section had one word for him: “Voltron”. If you grew up in the late 60s and 70s through the 80s, you would know the popular TV animation programme for kids, Voltron: Defender of the Universe. That is what I Go Save is, Voltron.

Instead of bros I Go Save to do wetin owners of the land want, he is foaming in the mouth like Godzilla.
