Nigerian Afrobeat star, Chukwuka Ekweani, better known by his stage name, Ckay, has ended his recording deal with Warner Music South Africa. Known for his global hits “Love Nwantiti”, “Emiliana”, the singer, in a statement titled ‘Ckay officially exits Warner Music South Africa- Prepares for new chapter’, said his decision not to renew his contract was mutual and strategic.

While many believed that Ekweani’s next move is highly anticipated, sources close to the artist suggest that a major announcement is imminent. The afrobeat singer, while appreciating the record label, urged his fans to get ready for a fresh wave of music and direction in the coming weeks.

He said: “Every journey has a beginning and an end, and my journey with Warner Music South Africa was a very important one which I am grateful for. Now, it is time for me to explore new energy and new horizons.”
