Ballon d’Or shortlist won’t distract me – Lookman
Super Eagles striker, Ademola Lookman, has declared that being among the shortlisted candidates for the Ballon d’Or won’t distract him from being focused on improving himself to be at the top level.
“I don’t know if people’s perception of me has changed,” he said in a report monitored by BSNSports.com.ng. “I just try to improve and become stronger every day.”
Despite being on the Ballon d’Or shortlist and attracting interest from PSG in the summer, the Nigerian refused to be carried away. He said: “This is the most important thing for me. And as for hard work on a daily basis, my character and goals, I’ve remained the same person as before.”
Speaking on his opinion on Atalanta’s strong attacking lineup, which includes new signings like Zaniolo, Samardzic, and Retegui, Lookman said: “We have a very strong group of attackers, great players with different characteristics. Each one wants to play to show their qualities. Being able to take the field with players like this is wonderful for me: they help me become a better player.”
