The Confederation of Africa Athletics (CAA) has appointed former Technical Director of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), Navy Commodore Omatseye Nesiama (Retd), as one of the referees for the third Africa U-18- U20 Combined Championships holding in Oran, Algeria from July 14 to 18.
 
The Director General of the CAA, Mr Lamine Faty, said in a statement yesterday that Nesiama, who is currently representing the Coaches and Technical officials on the board of the AFN, is among those picked for the event in Algeria.
 
Speaking with The Guardian, yesterday, Nesiama said: “I am honored to be so recognised by the CAA and WA through their numerous invitations to serve. I am also grateful to God for the grace and ability to have represented the country well in all of my outings thus far.”

Most importantly, I am grateful to Nigerians who have continued to encourage me to deliver excellently in my tasks. This next one will not be different by God’s grace.”
