Dynamite FC of Benin, which recently won promotion to the Nigerian National League (NNL), has revealed it has secured the football field of Edo University, Iyamoh, Etsako West Local Council of Edo State for its home matches in the coming season.

Speaking in Benin, Chairman of the club, Bernard Joeman revealed that former Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has also released his five bedroom bungalow for the club to use during their home matches.

He also disclosed that the club, which has joined Bendel Insurance in the NNL, has started screening players ahead of the coming season.

Joeman said the university has one of the best football pitches in the state, adding that it is what the club needs to boost its chances of securing promotion to the elite division of the Nigeria league.

“We have concluded talks on the use of the field and the institution has also agreed that some things that needed to be put in place will be done.

“We are very much okay with the place and also the positive assurances from the university’s management,” he said.

On the donation of the bungalow by Oshiomhole, Joeman said, “We are most appreciative of the comrade for the gesture. The house, which is directly opposite the university, will be used as the players’ lodge during its home matches.

He said a lot of benefits await Iyamoh community as well as the university as host of Dynamite FC in the NNL. “The multiplier effect of the club playing home matches in Iyamoh cannot be quantified in monetary terms. Economy of the community can never remain the same by the time the NNL gets underway.

“As for the institution, playing league matches in the university’s sports complex will enhance the overall sport development in the school,” he stated.
