Says he is pleased with man-of-the-match award

Arsenal’s forward, Alex Iwobi, has said he was pleased to be named the best player in the Arsenal against Chelsea’s match played at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The Nigerian international was impressive and was involved in the build up to Theo Walcott’s strike in the 14th minute.

Arsene Wenger described him not only as a player who plays to the gallery, but also the one who connects with the rest of the team on a very level and pace.

Since making his first team debut, Iwobi has featured prominently for the north London outfit and the Frenchman believes he is heading for the top but must work hard.

“The perception he has of the game and the speed of his decision-making struck me.

“When you look at him at first there is nothing special there. But after when you look he is always connecting with others at a very high level and a very high pace. That’s why I think he is improving.

“He still has a lot of work to do but he has something that is very important at the top level. Speed and an understanding of the game,” Wenger told Arsenal website.
