Jigawa Golden Stars to play NPFL home games in Kaduna
Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) new boys, Jigawa Golden Stars FC of Dutse have chosen the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna for their home games for the upcoming 2019/20 NPFL season.
Speaking after the management meeting at the club office, Jigawa State’s Director of Sports, Usman Garba Labbo disclosed that the decision was taken to meet the League Management Company’s rules and regulations.
“After much deliberations, we have decided to play our home games in Kaduna (Ahmadu Bello Stadium).
“The decision is to meet LMC rules and regulations because according to what they sent to us via the club’s email, each stadium must have a good standard pitch and a well-sitting space for fans to watch our games.
“We don’t want to be caught napping whenever they inform us that our home games will be live on television.
“Also, we have to follow the rules guiding the game as set by the Confederation of African Football, which is the body guiding the game in Africa,” he said.
Jigawa Golden Stars were promoted to the NPFL after beating NAF Rockets FC of Abuja in one of the Nigeria National League 2018/19 play-off matches in Makurdi in July.
