Musa arrives Leicester, undergoes medicals today
Super Eagles’ Vice Captain, Ahmed Musa, has arrived in England to undergo his medical and finalise his club record move to Leicester City, reports allnigeriasoccer.com.
According to Leicester Mercury, if the CSKA Moscow striker passes his medical examination today, he will pen a deal that will see him remain with the Foxes until the end of the 2019-2020 season.
“Musa is now in the United Kingdom, he is having a medical on Friday morning,” a source close to the striker said.
Musa is a well-known international player, starring for Nigeria at the 2014 World Cup, and it is all but confirmed that he will be granted a work permit by the Home Office.
The 23-year-old forward should complete his switch within the coming days and could join his new teammates in time to take part in their Austrian training camp next week.
City have been trying to sign Musa since January when they had a bid rejected by CSKA, reported to be around £18 million.
Once confirmed, Musa will overtake Nampalys Mendy as the club’s record signing just a few days after the Frenchman signed from Nice in a deal believed to be worth £13 million.
Leicester City are then expected to continue their summer spending spree and have been in talks with the representatives of Brazilian striker, Luan and Croatia international, Nikola Kalinic, according to both players’ agents.
