Super Eagles’ Vice Captain, Ahmed Musa has shaken off the ailment to kept him on the bench in the first half of Nigeria’s game against Burundi on Saturday. And depending on the tactics adopted by Coach Gernot Rohr, he is fit to start from the beginning against Guinea today.

An excited Rohr said yesterday, “We are happy to have again Kalu and Musa who is fit to start the game.

“We will have a choice to make, there is real competition which is good for us because the competition will make them stronger, I hope.

“We have to be careful with the atmosphere in the team, between the players who are starting and the other ones not starting but we don’t have problems about it.”

He revealed that Ola Aina, whose assist gave Odion Ighalo the winner against Burundi, was not originally billed to start against Burundi. Aina came into the picture when Jamiu Collins and Samuel Kalu became unavailable due to illness.

“The other day in the last training session we lost two players, Collins through injury and Kalu with this incident and two other players replaced them and they did well.

“Ola did well, Chukwueze did well. They replaced Kalu and Collins who were supposed to start the match in the last moment.

“It means the group is mentally very strong and able to face each problem,” Rohr said.
