Over 100 scrabble players will take part in the fifth Janet Adowei Memorial Scrabble Championship (JAMSC) billed to hold from November 16 to 17 in Lagos, the organisers have said.

JAMSC, which is also a platform by the Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF) to grade players, was initiated by former Lekki Scrabble Club President, Ebikeme Adowei, who introduced the tourney into the Nigerian circuit to immortalise his late mother, and also develop the sport.

Interestingly, this year’s edition is of huge significance as it is holding just weeks to the National Sports Festival billed for Ogun State next January.

The players will be vying for the N750,000 top prize money at the two-day tournament scheduled to hold in Gbagada, Lagos State

Among the top dignitaries at the last edition, which featured over 100 players, was Chief Superintendent of Police, Femi Okunowo, who is the chairman of Nigeria Police Scrabble Association.

Meanwhile, the organisers have told players intending to participate in the championship to complete their registration through the portal:

https://www.scrabblejamclassic.com, on or before November 13.
