The European January transfer window may have been officially closed, but Africa’s first Sports Radio station, Brila FM, set another record with her latest signing. Former Nigerian National team, Super Eagles’ captain and goalkeeper, ‘Dodomayana’ Peter Rufai has joined the Brila Sports family and will be on air in the station’s Lagos studios 5 to 8 p.m. from Monday to Friday, the station announced yesterday.

Rufai was a member of Nigeria’s 1994 and 1998 World Cup squads where the Super Eagles qualified for the round of 16.

The Tunisia 1994 Africa Nations Cup winner played in the Dutch Eredivisie, Belgian League and the Spanish La Liga with Deportivo La Coruna.

Rufai has now joined former Super Eagles’ left back, Ifeanyi Udeze who also teamed up with the Brila FM crew to give listeners fresh and informed football analysis just in time for the World Cup.

A statement from Brila FM yesterday said Sports lovers can now enjoy Rufai’s analysis from Mondays through Fridays 5pm to 8pm and also Udeze’s diary, Mondays to Fridays 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

The Brila Sports Media Group launched Africa’s premier sports radio station (88.9 BrilaFm) October 1, 2002 and has since undergone series of expansion.

The station broadcasts to the world via http://www.brila.net.
