Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)

Recently, the UFC marked its peak in popularity by going public on Wall Street. Fans and all types of businessmen can purchase stocks in the company. Considering the fact that 20 years ago, this promotion was not considered legal in many states around the USA, the progress has been nothing short of amazing.

Over the years, the UFC managed to grow a lot and these days, we have some of the best fighters in the world competing for the belt in their respective division. 2021 has so far been extremely successful as we witnessed tons of great bouts. With that being said, we wanted to take a look at some potential matchups that are guaranteed to blow the roof off.

People Are Already Betting on the Potential Matchups
Before we unveil our top 3 picks, it is worth a mention that due to the massive rumours that are circulating, online bookmakers have already opened up betting odds for the fights. Considering the fact that UFC fans are also fans of placing bets, they are more than happy to wager a buck or two on the fights.
Thanks to the great advantages that online bookmakers have, punters are more than happy to register at these platforms. Some of these advantages include easy access, 24/7 availability, tons of bonuses and promotions, etc. The one thing that punters need to make sure when accessing online sportsbooks is to see whether they are licensed or not. Luckily, we have a list of betting sites in Nigeria that are legal, licensed, secure, and extremely trustworthy.
Now, let’s take a look at the potential matchups that are likely to happen this year.

Charles Oliviera vs Conor McGregor
This fight has the potential to be one of the best in 2021. Charles is coming off from a win against Michael Chandler and he managed to capture UFC gold. It took him more than 10 years to accomplish that, but in the end, he came up victorious.

Rumours of a potential fight against Conor McGregor which will serve as Charle’s first title defence are already circulating. However, Conor has a massive obstacle that he needs to go through first and that is his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier in July.
Kamaru Usman vs Colby Covington 2
Kamaru Usman is currently the most dominant fighter in the UFC. What’s even more interesting, he’s the champion and had 3 fights in the last 11 months, making him the most active fighter on the roster. After beating Jorge Masvidal with a TKO recently, Colby Covington is already wanting that rematch against the Nigerian Nightmare.

The first fight against these two was incredibly close, but Kamaru was able to get the edge after he broke Colby’s jaw and ended up winning with a TKO in the 5th round. One thing is certain, this fight has massive potential as Colby is one of the toughest opponents that Kamaru has faced and realistically looking, the only fighter in the welterweight division that can dethrone him.

Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou
Finally, we transfer to the heavy-hitters, AKA the heavyweight division. Francis Ngannou recently KO’d Stipe Miocic, who is considered the GOAT of this division. As it stands, he is looking to hold the belt for quite some time. But, the UFC’s biggest nightmare is coming after him and his name is Jon Jones.

Hate him or love him, there’s no denying that Jon Jones is arguably the best fighter to ever step foot in the octagon. Even though the negotiations are complicated as Jones is looking for a massive paycheck and the UFC is considering booking Francs Ngannou vs Derrick Lewis instead, a fight between Jones and Francis is definitely one for the history books.
