Atere calls for collective efforts in nation building

The Bishop of the Diocese of Awori (Anglican Communion), Rt. Revd. Johnson Akin Atere has called for a better understanding and cooperation between those in authority and the people to enhance national socio-economic growth.

The Bishop of the Diocese of Awori (Anglican Communion), Rt. Revd. Johnson Akin Atere has called for a better understanding and cooperation between those in authority and the people to enhance national socio-economic growth.He said this in Ota, Ogun State, during the conferment of chieftaincy titles of Aare Atunluse and Yeye Aare Atunluse of Aworiland on the Chairman of Mapcotec Nigeria Limited, Surveyor (Dr.) Segun Osifeso and his wife by the Olota of Ota, Oba Abdulkabir Obalanlege, and all Awori Obas in the state.

The cleric stated that the benefits inherent in such cooperation were enormous, especially in the quest for quality service delivery to the populace.He charged Osifeso to not only improve on his good virtues and be fervent in prayers, but to also have the fear of God and take the worship of God more seriously.

He admonished Osifeso and his wife to continue to be compassionate and merciful, as well as endeavour to carry out the purpose and God’s will for their lives.

The Bishop noted that in as much as the Obas and people considered Osifeso worthy of the honour, due to his qualities of steadfastness, honesty, business acumen and proven integrity, among others, he must continue to provide exemplary leadership at all times.

He also advised the honouree to be meek, holy, self-denying and forbearing. Rejoicing with Osifeso, the cleric urged him to uphold his position as a diplomat of moral courage and rectitude, whose passion and dedication to society’s advancement was unparalleled.
