Dr. Adenekan unveils 3-point agenda for the youths, Church
Making this known in Lagos, the Vice Lay President said: “Our collective intention at the Lagos province of the African Church in the next couple of years shall among other things be to embark on viable and sustainable business investments, empower the youths in all spheres and most importantly, intensify our evangelical programmes and activities.”
The installation ceremony, which took place on February 23, 2020, had also fundraising towards the N50m Lagos province secretariat. As part of the activities for the installation, a novelty match took place on February 22 is the second edition organised across the Diocese.
Chairman of the planning committee and vice lay president of the Lagos Mainland Diocese of The African Church, Bro. Adekunle Jaiyesimi said the idea behind the competition was to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, bring the youths together and win souls to the kingdom.
Also present at the ceremony was the provincial Archbishop, Most Rev. Julius Oludotun Ogunseye, who in his sermon reiterated the call for service, which he took from Mark 10:42-45 and 1 Peter 5:2, where he encouraged everyone to always be available for God’s call. “Live for what you can give and not what you will get. Live by example and let the true Word of God guide you,” he said.
Reacting to the football competition, the sports coordinator, Ven. M.O. Beckley said the football match was part of the activities scheduled for the installation ceremony and to have a provincial team to represent the African Church in other football matches.
