Evidence of wrong relationship 2019 – Part 7

It is nothing but fornication, when you engage in sexual relationship with someone you are not yet joined together with as husband and wife. Hebrews 13:4 tells us that marriage is honourable in all things and the bed must be undefiled, because fornicators and adulterers God will judge. It is better to keep yourself pure and keep away from sexual intercourse until you get married, which is better than to invoke God’s judgment on your life. Anyone who cannot wait till you get married does not really love you, they only love sex not you. God is a God of order.

Relationship where there is cohabitation without marriage: it is an evidence of wrong relationship, when a man or a woman decided to live together in the same apartment before they are joined together as husband and wife. Cohabitation is a sign of wrong relationship because it is not of God. One can always make arrangements with people of the same sex, in case one’s partner has an accommodation problem. Until you are legally joined together as husband and wife, you have no right to live together in a room or in the same apartment. It is not even ideal because of temptation. It is like setting a trap for yourself without knowing.

The people of the world are fond of cohabitation. Once there is an agreement to get married, they begin to move their things to the man’s residence. But as Christians, we are not to follow the world’s standard. There are many people that did this in time past, only to regret it at the end of the day. Before you know it, you will begin to sleep together, commit fornication and eventually the lady gets pregnant. It has been proved that up to eighty percent of the people that cohabit do not eventually get married to the same people they cohabited with. What is the importance of living with a man you are not married to, as if you are already husband and wife for just a while, only to discover that you cannot go ahead with the same relationship. God’s word even says we must run away from all appearances of evil.

Researchers also found out that eighty-five percent of those who engage in cohabitation does not get married eventually. It has also been decided in many cases in the law courts that cohabitation is not the same thing as marriage. As a woman, you are making yourself so cheap, in fact, cheaper than a prostitute, when a man has not paid your bride price and he has refused to show commitments by not taking you to the registry and not taking you to the altar to be lawfully wedded to you but you sheepishly move to join him in his apartment or he moves to join you in your own apartment. Cohabitation is so rampant in our days, but suffice to say here that it is ungodly, satanic, unbiblical, immoral and contrary to our tradition. It is also illegal and should be vehemently discouraged, especially if you are a child of God and you really want to live a life that pleases Him. The word of God already warned us not to join multitude to do evil (Ex. 23:2). The fact that many people are doing it ignorantly does not make it right.
