Text: Romans 1:16-32
Key Verse: Psalm 51:5: “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me,” (NKJV).

The Psalmist said that he was conceived in sin and born in iniquity. As he came into the world as a little child, he became a sinner in a world of sin and contributed his own quota of sin to the world too. He picked his own quota of sin from people who are already in the world because the world is full of sinners. Majority of the people in the world are ungodly; they do not care about God. So, do not be surprised with whatever that is happening in our country. A group called itself Boko Haram, so, it is. The group is characterised of the ungodly. If they now say they are bandits, why won’t they be. If they are not bandits, will I be a bandit? No, I can never be one. Some people are comfortable being bandits and will continue to be bandits except the power that transformed my life goes into their lives, nothing will stop them from being bandits.

Man is very strong; man is very resilient and cares about nothing. Man can dare anyone or any circumstance; nothing frightens him. If you tell him you will shoot him; he will not care. If you tell him, you will kill him; he will not bother. If you tell him, you will hang him; he will not mind you and will continue with his life. He will even challenge you to run after him and shoot him. He will challenge you to chase and catch him and then hang him. He cares less about his life or the dangers around him; so, he continues to live his life the way he likes.

I was talking with some people a few days ago and I said, “do you know that if everybody is a child of God, we may not need the police or of what use will the police be? This is because all the police reports will stop. We will not need the soldiers, the check points, the security in our houses or even padlocks for our doors. And when leaving our houses, we shall leave the doors unlocked and nothing will happen to any of our property.” However, one of the people said, “Reverend you may have to close the door because of the goats and the sheep” and I said okay, except that.

If not for that, we shall leave our doors open and go to work, travel abroad and return and nobody will go into our houses to steal anything. Nobody will enter our houses because something has taken place in the people’s lives that has transformed them from being controlled by the devil and all his negative vibes to being children of God. This was why Jesus came to save the world. When God looked on the world, He had pity on the people because the devil has planted evil in them. It is for His love for man that He sent His Only Begotten Son to save the world.

Satan’s grip on man was so firm that no man could save himself until God in His infinite wisdom sent His Son to save man. There was no other solution, nothing else but Jesus. This is why we preach the gospel. Apostle Paul said: “We preach Christ crucified,” (1 Corinthians 1:23). No matter who you are or how the devil has held you down with different types of evil or the number of years the devil has held you in chains, Jesus is available to deliver you. God, in His love and infinite wisdom, has made Him the Way. And I thank God that in Jesus Christ every man can be saved.
