Choose to believe

Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. John 6:28-29
SOME people want miracle without the miracle maker and salvation. They go to church, not for fellowship, but to seek miracles. Some of them even hire contractors in the name of prophets to do the prayer and fasting because they don’t want to have anything to do with the ‘god’ of the priest. They believe it is certain men that are called to do that. Many have fallen into untold shame and sorrow in the hands of such prophets because the way of salvation seems too simple and not complicated at all.

To them, the more it is complicated the better. They are not ready to sacrifice their ways of living to serve God.

In the text above, they asked Jesus to tell them what they had to do to produce miracles like He did. But Jesus answered them by saying the answer is to believe in Jesus. Jesus is the access to God. Do you want miracles? You don’t have to visit any prophet or go to the mountain-top. Believe in Jesus, accept Him into your life and you will do wonders.
In the book of Mark,

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; Mark 16:7

These signs shall follow them that believe, not those that hire prayer contractors or come to church to seek signs and wonders. The first step in receiving a miracle is to believe in Jesus. You have to accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour for you to have a miracle. Of course, the devil also performs signs and wonders and his miracle seems faster, but the end is death.

You don’t have to suffer untold hardship, sickness or diseases in the hands of the enemy, when you have been given power over him, if you believe in Him. The enemy will deceive your hearts into thinking fellowship with God is not for people like you, that you are not qualified; rather let others do it for you. That is a lie from the pit of hell.

Do you want miracles? Then accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. That is the first and best miracle of all.

If believing in Jesus opens the door of miracles, then unbelief will shut the door (Matt 13:54-58). May it not be said of you that Jesus could not do mighty works because of your unbelief.

The simple act of obedience brings a miracle in a natural phenomenon that violates natural laws and reveals God at the same time.

If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. Job 36:11

Obedience is the key to the supernatural. When you obey God the supernatural happens; that which is beyond human understanding. You live in the supernatural; your life becomes wonder to all.

Obedience brings expectation and expectation births miracles.

Acts 19:11-12). Expect it and it will happen.

If we expect God to move and do miracles, then three elements must be at work then we must:
Believe – Acts 19:11-12
Obey – Mark 9:23

Expect the impossible – Mark 16:15-20. If they did not “Go ye” he would not confirm with signs and wonders.

When we do these, the atmosphere is created for God to move on Earth (2 Chronicles 16:9).
